'Hunt, Gather, Cook' Dinner

Proactive carnivore, angler, farmer, hunter, forager, and James Beard Foundation Award-winning blogger Hank Shaw will be the guest of honor at Gather (2200 Oxford St., Berkeley) on Tuesday. Gather’s executive chef Sean Baker designed each dish for the evening’s special one-time-only prix-fixe menu based on ideas suggested in Shaw’s cookbooks, Hunt, Gather, Cook: Finding the Forgotten Feast and Duck, Duck, Goose: The Ultimate Guide to Cooking Waterfowl, Both Farmed and Wild. This will be the only Bay Area appearance for Shaw, who is conducting a self-financed cross-country book tour via his own pickup truck.
