Hubba Hubba Revue and Pickles Kintaro Present Al-Stravaganza: A Burlesque Tribute to the Music of Weird Al

When: Mon., Aug. 13, 9 p.m.-12 a.m. 2012

While fans of unrepentant musical parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic will be delighted to learn that the singer-songwriter is currently rounding the country on his month-long Alpocalypse tour, local followers will likely be perplexed to learn that his closest stops are way out in Folsom and Napa. For those looking to have their funny bones tickled without draining their gas tanks, the next best thing is HubbaHubba Revue's Al-Stravaganza. The San Francisco-based burlesque troupe pays tribute to the illustrious jokester with a Weird Al look-alike contest, trivia, and an "Al-star" burlesque line-up that includes half-silly, half-sultry performances by Honey Lawless, Lady Satan, Odessa Lil, Pearl E. Gates, and more. At The Uptown Nightclub (192 Telegraph Ave., Oakland) on Monday, Aug. 13. 9 p.m.-midnight, $5.
