Home Theater Fesitval

When: Fridays-Sundays. Continues through May 23 2010

Perhaps you caught the latest Philip Huang teaser to make the rounds on YouTube. Called "Rent Boy: The Porn," it includes 54 seconds of crotch shots and titillating close-ups of ... luggage. The ever-salacious Huang applies just enough lubricant to jimmy his fingers into a big suitcase. Luggage porn is just a small taste of what one might find at the Home Theater Festival, which runs through the end of May in homes throughout the Bay Area. It kicked off in Huang's South Berkeley apartment with a play called "Guns, Sperm, and Steel." Upcoming offerings include "Live from the TenderNob" (Saturday, May 22, at 8 p.m.) and "Sexelogical Walking Tour" (Saunday, May 23, at 8 p.m.), which stars erstwhile porn diva Annie Sprinkle. Since it bears the Huang imprimatur, this fest has a heavy porn emphasis tempered by a healthy sense of humor. Its tagline? "Who the fuck needs theaters?" Tickets are $7.99-$14.99 at the door. Proceeds go directly to the artists.
