All he really wanted was a lawn mower. Rutger Hauer, aging gracefully beneath the rags, stars as the title homeless avenger who cleans up an insanely, hilariously nasty town with the help of a streetwalker with a heart of gold (Molly Dunsworth). Jason Eisener (director and editor) and John Davies (screenplay) came up with the concept as an entry in a “Grindhouse Trailer Contest” and it looks it — a little too studied, but with enough cheap jokes to punctuate the splatter. The overacting by Gregory Smith, Brian Downey, and Nick Bateman fits in with everything else. A Canadian production shot on location in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (86 min.).
