Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story

Rated NR 94 minutes 2017

Harold Michelson was Hollywood’s leading storyboard artist during the late period of the studios, circa 1950-1990. His wife Lillian Michelson operated her own research library for movie production. Together they worked on an amazing array of hit motion pictures, from Cape Fear to The Graduate to Full Metal Jacket. The talking heads list of this informative documentary includes Francis Ford Coppola, Mel Brooks, and Danny DeVito, who exec-produces. But the real reason for writer-director Daniel Raim’s tribute to the Michelsons is that they were the sweetest, most loving couple in Tinseltown, with a marriage that lasted sixty years. For that reason, it’s a feel-gooder that actually makes us feel good (94 min., 2015, not rated) (K.V.)
