Haiti Disaster Relief Benefit

Houndsound

When: Wed., Feb. 10, 9 p.m. 2010

Raising money for Haiti didn't end with George Clooney & Co.'s little telethon. Get your adventurous ears and ants-filled pants at the Elbo Room (647 Valencia St., San Francisco) on Wednesday, Feb. 10 for the Haiti Relief Benefit with Eats Tapes. The highly esteemed SF husband-and-wife duo specialize in noisy, club bangers all falling apart and spazzing like they got left out in the rain. Hardware sequencers, synths, modified drum machines, cassette players, and a midi Nintendo make songs like "Face Shredder" and "Hard Reset" sound just like their names. There's melody in there, but it's become superhot, melodic plasma, diffuse and pulsing in a cauldron of beats. MarijkeJorritsma and Gregory Zifcak hold down the night with TITS, Houndsound, and DJs CLAWS, Kit Clayton, and Sutekh. 9 p.m., sliding scale. Elbo.com
