When: Sat., April 9, 9 a.m. 2011
There are times when you want to ride alone; you're grabbing a breath of fresh air, sneaking in some after-work exercise, or making a quick trip to the grocery store. And then there are times when nothing beats a companion on the open road - or, in the case of the Berkeley-based Grizzly Peak Cyclists' Second-Saturday All-Club Ride on Saturday, Apr. 9, a whole host of them. Club members and newcomers alike are invited to meet at the Orinda BART parking lot (11 Camino Pablo, Orinda) at 9 a.m., for a prompt 9:15 a.m. departure. All riders travel together for the first 7.5 miles at an easygoing speed, then divide into five pace groups whose designated routes, all hilly, will cover as little as 23 miles and as many as 75. Rain cancels, so e-mail eleganttype (at) earthlink (dot) net if the weather is questionable. Free. For route info, see Grizz.org/series/ssr.html.
