Who knows how anyone gets famous these days? Greyson Chance shot out of nowhere when a video he made covering Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at his 6th grade music festival went viral. The attention earned him an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres, lots of industry interest, and more than 66 million views on YouTube. It is a riveting performance, just him and a piano. But surprisingly, he built an actual career off of the single video’s success. He recently released his sophomore album, Portraits, on Sony in March 2019. He’s not a kid anymore, so now he continues to build a fanbase off his masterful songwriting, captivating vocal range, and his synth-pop fused R&B stylization. Even though he’s been in the public eye for a decade, Chance is at the beginning of what will likely be a long tenure in the pop world.
