Graffiti Pizza

Restaurant Details

After the clock strikes midnight in Oakland, there’s no shortage of tacos, burritos, or won ton noodle soup — but it was strangely hard to find a slice of late night pizza until Graffiti Pizza opened its doors in Old Oakland last October. Three-time pizza champion Matt Molina serves up a variety of slices that change by the day, even the hour, along with a set menu of whole pizzas. Whole pizzas shine with creative combinations like the Phantom, a sauceless white pizza topped with mozzarella, ricotta, red bell peppers, mushrooms, and dollops of ricotta, finished with a tangy-sweet balsamic vinegar glaze. If you’re lucky, you might come across pan pizza by the slice, with crisp, caramelized golden brown edges. The meatball sub is also noteworthy, with housemade bread and lighty, flavorful all-beef meatballs — but appetizers like the mixed green salad and the garlic knots were unremarkable.
