When: Fri., March 11, 7:30 p.m. 2011
With Spring just a pollen blast away, the East Bay's interest in our professional basketball team is about as ephemeral. Although the Golden State Warriors had February and a huge homestand to hook us, now they're just fading slowly away in the Western Conference. But before baseball returns, the Warriors still hold a loose grip on the sports scene. This weekend, the Golden Staters host two cross-country foes at the Oracle Arena (7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland): first, on Friday, Mar. 11, the Orlando Magic (7:30 p.m. tipoff); and then, on Sunday, Mar. 13, the Minnesota Timberwolves (6 p.m.). The Warriors are pretty far back in the playoff hunt and will likely spend the warmer months watching their betters play on. If you want a last blast of Winter, maybe this weekend, misery will enjoy your company. $10-$400. 1-888-479-4667 or NBA.com/warriors.
