Proclaiming herself the first British comic on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, Gina Yasheresallied across the stage in high heels and a black wife-beater with a United Kingdom flag logo. Beneath it were the words "Black Jack." Yashere is one of the saltiest stand-up comedians on the circuit today. The daughter of Nigerian immigrants, she was raised in London and has the cockney accent to prove it. In fact, Yashere does spot-on imitations of at least three different dialects -- including a self-parody, in which she tries to use American rap slang and gets called for it. Since debuting at Edinburgh Fringe in 1996, Yashere has perfected her bits on hair, fraught family relationships, and her childhood in Woodgreen, England ("You know you live in a shit area when you can read the registration number on a police helicopter."). Her sets are absolutely infectious. Yashere performs Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 25-28, at Tommy T's Comedy Steakhouse (5104 Hopyard Rd., Pleasanton). $10-$30. TommyTs.com
