When: Dec. 14-16 2018
The Crucible offers classes in bold ventures like flameworking instead of sketching and painting, so it’s natural that the Oakland organization’s annual holiday market, Gifty, would be more exciting than your standard craft fair. Dozens of East Bay artists — including Crucible faculty members — will showcase handcrafted work. That includes holiday ornaments from Malia Danks, the 17-year-old founder of Octopus Ceramics who is back for her second year in a row. Oakland-based vendor Bottle of Clouds will present their fun-sized jewelry collection of laser cut wooden pieces. Fresh to Def Collective — also native to The Town — will be sure to boast must-buy finds for your best friends. This family-friendly event will run for two days and feature live demonstrations on glassblowing, blacksmithing, and more, in addition to seasonal treats and beverages.
