Southern California-bred Georgeanne Brennan bought an old farmhouse in France with her husband in 1970 and got into the goat-cheese and pig business. Now she runs a cooking school in Provence and is the author of such critically acclaimed cookbooks as Potagerand The Glass Pantry. At Rakestraw Books (409 Railroad Ave., Danville) on July 31, she discusses her new memoir, A Pig in Provence -- over dinner! Reservations are required. 7 p.m., $20.
