When: Fri., Nov. 19, 8 p.m. and Sat., Nov. 20, 8 p.m. 2010

George Clinton may not have invented funk, but he made it a part of pop culture with his work leading Parliament Funkadelic, a multi-faceted collective with Parliament being slightly more pop and cartoonish, andFunkadelic being slightly more jazzy and experimental. The band is possibly the most influential African American group of the '70s. It took the music and philosophy of P-Funk to fans throughout the world. Clinton brings the latest incarnation of his mob to town for a rare club appearance. The two-hour long sets will include music from Clinton's forthcoming doo-wop project, a few Motown covers, and the hits that made him an icon.
