Friday Nights at OMCA: Season 4 Launch

When: Fri., Jan. 8, 5-9 p.m. 2016

The fourth year of Friday Nights at OMCA, the wildly popular weekly collaboration between Off the Grid (the omnipresent organizer of massive food truck gatherings) and the Oakland Museum of California, kicks off with a packed itinerary that promises to offer something for everyone — whether you’re a bacon or cupcake lover, an art aficionado (adult or pint-sized), or a danceaholic. In addition to the usual lineup of twelve gourmet food trucks and half-off museum admission, festivities will include a beginner-friendly quilting bee, a rock-painting activity for kids, a brief docent-led tour of one of the museum’s galleries, and — following a quick dance tutorial — a live band playing Latin and Salsa music from 7 to 9 p.m. — Luke Tsai
