FreshCatch’s First Annual Crab Feed

When: Sun., Jan. 7, 2 p.m. 2018

With so many food startups based in the Bay Area, you’d be forgiven if you’ve never heard of FreshCatch. But unlike the dominant meal kit and restaurant delivery apps, FreshCatch functions more like Community Supported Agriculture, but for fish. Basically, you sign up for a fresh catch of the day to be delivered to your door, which then helps keep a West Coast collective of sustainable fishing vessels in business. FreshCatch is celebrating its one-year anniversary with an epic crab feed at Temescal Brewing, featuring the folks who catch the goods. Feast on Dungeness crab from Half Moon Bay, rock crab from Santa Cruz, garlic noodles, organic greens, and garlic bread — plus lots of butter and Old Bay. All-you-can-eat tickets cost $75 and are only available online in advance. More dainty eaters can opt for a single crab plus sides for $30 or one of each crab with sides for $40.
