When: Fri., Aug. 5, 7-10 p.m. 2016
In this commission for Viscera, artist Patti Maciesz presents a series of large format linen works depicting the intersection urban and maritime life in her native New York. The sea and cityscapes are created using her unique process, in which she paints images in negative colors and then inverts them for the final print. The works are part of a larger series titled Hunter Island, which imagines NYC underwater. Prints and an artist book will be available. Wine & light refreshments provided (ID required for alcohol).
