Feel the Noise, about a Harlem teenager who takes refuge from hometown gangsters in his estranged father's native Puerto Rico, is one of those movies created to look like a music video and, ultimately, sell soundtracks. In this case, soundtracks filled with reggaeton, an exciting mix of rap, reggae, and salsa. Interestingly, this is not just a creative dig like such movies usually illicit; Sony BMG actually co-produced with Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions. Unfortunately for Sony and Lopez, they've put so little original thought put into every aspect of this production that one can't help but wonder if Puerto Rico might ultimately sue them for irrevocably damaging the image of their latest musical export.
