Only West Coast destination for this acclaimed exhibition! On view through April 10, 2011!

Eva Hesse (1936—1970) played a central role in the radical transformation of sculptural practice in the 1960s. Hesse belonged to a generation of artists, including Bruce Nauman and Andy Warhol, who expanded the conceptual and technical possibilities for art. Alongside her large-scale sculptures, she produced a great many small experimental works. This exhibition presents rarely seen small-scale works, many from BAM/PFA's own collection, that illuminate Hesse's studio practice and capture elusive moments of experimentation.
