This ten-table, twelve-tap family-friendly brewpub offers updated takes on American standards, as well as a full slate of beers, both brewed in-house and elsewhere.
Can a small, family-friendly bar in the ’burbs — whose chef’s background is Italian cooking — pull off a food program that crisscrosses the globe, taking detours to Hawaii, Korea, Peru, Argentina, and Germany? The answer, it turns out, is yes. The gastropub grub at Elevation 66 is as skillfully prepared as it is eclectic, making the food a big draw alongside the brewery’s impressive selection of craft beers. The menu changes every couple of months, but highlights during our visits included exceptionally juicy Kalua pork tacos (from Hawaii), house-made sausages served over curry-flavored spaetzle and sauerkraut (Germany), and a wagyu beef burger whose only “ethnic” component was a mustardy curry aioli — the best of that burger’s A-plus building blocks. Needless to say, everything on the menu goes well with a cold beer.
