Echo in the Canyon

Rated PG-13 82 minutes 2019

Worthwhile (for serious rock music fans) documentary celebrates the connection between the folk music scene of the early 1960s and the folk-rock scene in Los Angeles, particularly in the Laurel Canyon hippie enclave. Firsthand witnesses include musicians Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, Lou Adler, Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, and Michelle Phillips, as well as musical emcee Jakob Dylan, shown at a concert with such contemporary folk-rockers as Jade Castrinos, Beck, and Fiona Apple. Directed by former Capitol Records exec Andrew Slater.
