When you live in a landscape as fertile as this one, "eating local" is a pleasure, not a prison sentence. At the Ecology Center (2530 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley) on Saturday, Mar. 14, local naturalist Terri Compost hosts a workshop on local farms and farmers' markets as well as foraging, gleaning, identifying edible weeds and alternate food sources, and more. 11 a.m., $10-$15.
