Lark Creek Restaurant Group — whose East Bay members include Lark Creek Walnut Creek and Lafayette’s Yankee Pier — is about to begin its third annual month-long “Gingerbread Wishes” project in an effort to raise funds for the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Throughout November, each of the group’s restaurants will offer a star-shaped gingerbread cookie on its dessert menu for $10, served tableside with a decorating kit, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish.

To launch “Gingerbread Wishes” month, LCRG and pastry chef Patti Dellamonica-Bauler are hosting a cookie-decorating party at San Francisco’s One Market Restaurant from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 7. For $20, each guest will receive a cookie-decorating kit designed by Dellamonica-Bauler that includes three freshly baked cookies along with icing, sprinkles, and candies. Guests will also be served a variety of nonalcoholic beverages and finger sandwiches. All proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish.

LCRG has raised more than $32,000 through the annual Gingerbread Wishes campaign, which began after Lark Creek CFO Jon Gologorsky’s niece, suffering from leukemia, was granted a “wish” through the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a backyard garden that she could view through her bedroom window.
