When: Wed., June 3, 7:15-8:45 p.m. and Wed., June 10, 7:15-8:45 p.m. 2015
If the recent cold snap put you in the mood for big steaming mugs of hot chocolate, you’ll want to up your game by checking out this workshop hosted by Oaktown Spice Shop (546 Grand Ave., Oakland) — the East Bay home cook’s preeminent source for all kinds of spices — which recently moved to a new, larger location that’s perfect for hands-on events such as this. On Wednesday, Brian Wallace, founder of the Oakland-based chocolate company Endorphin Chocolat, will teach participants how to make Spanish-style hot cocoa using whole, unrefined ingredients. No worries if the weather warms up: You’ll also make a bottle of refreshing cold-brewed cacao beverage to take home. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.com. Note: If the June 3 class sells out, there’s another session scheduled for June 10.
