Created as a way to teach the world about Indian culture, Khel Mel is a performance group whose tools include puppetry, arts and crafts, storytelling, and song. At the Fremont Public Library (2400 Stevenson Blvd., Fremont) on Saturday, Nov. 6, members of Khel Mel lead a family-friendly celebration of Diwali, the joyful festival of lights during which Hindus and Sikhs relish the victory of good over evil. 3 p.m., free.
