Funny, speedy, violent sequel to the 2004 French dystopian actioner Banlieue 13 has more than just its trademark building-hopping parkour stunts going for it. Upstanding, and hella tough, Paris cop Damien (Cyril Raffaelli) teams up with former ghetto rebel Leito (parkour king Dabid Belle) to thwart an evil rightwing plot to destroy the lower-class, people-of-color suburb in favor of forced gentrification by a company called “Harriburton.” Has the usual gravity-defying leaps and fistfights, but with a definite political angle – thanks to screenwriter Luc Besson. Philippe Torreton costars as the sympathetic Monsieur le Président. Directed stylishly by Patrick Alessandrin (101 min.).
