Dishcrawl Alameda

If you don't like surprises, particularly when it comes to food, then Dishcrawl probably isn't going to be your cup of tea. The popular food tour -- which the Express' Ellen Cushing described as a "staycation for foodies" -- works as a pre-planned restaurant-hopping experience for small neighborhoods. Around forty attendees sign up, then two days before the big event they find out their meeting place and itinerary. For the upcoming Alameda crawl, set for Tuesday, Apr. 9, Dishcrawl organizer JP Fernandez has dropped a few "clues" hinting at a Vietnamese-inspired excursion. Ticketholders have all food paid for, and will get a chance to meet the chefs and owners behind each operation. Once the Dishcrawl begins, all will be deliciously revealed. 7 p.m., $45.
