On Sunday, the Oakland Tribune scored its first-ever sit-down interview with Mayor Ron Dellums. Too bad he doesn't appear to have said anything newsworthy. In advance of his State of the City address, which is set for 6 p.m. tonight at the Marriott, the mayor repeated his refrain that being the mayor of a major urban area might even be harder than being the president. If there was any news at all, it's that Dellums plans no major personnel moves. Given that his entire senior staff has already turned over in the past year, it's not really clear what to make of that promise.
