Counting Crows

When: Sun., July 26, 7 p.m. 2009

When it comes to the art of airing out emotional baggage worthy of a therapist's retainer to your fan base, Adam Duritz has it down to a science. Counting Crows' latest album, Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings, continues down the confessional path, split between raucous songs fueled by bacchanalia, and acoustic, next-morning aftermath of contrition. And with the band's recent split with longtime label Geffen Records and Duritz going public with his struggles with dissociative disorder, the Crows' current tour seems particularly intriguing. FellowBay Area peers Michael Franti and Spearhead and SoCal natives Augustana not only share the bill, dubbed the "Traveling Circus and Medicine Show," but all three acts will simultaneously share the stage at different points during the evening. All this musical chaos will go down on Sunday, July 26, at the Greek Theatre (Gayley Rd. at Hearst Ave., Berkeley). 7 p.m., $39.50-$85.50. APEConcerts.com
