Carousel Grand Reopening

When: Sat., Oct. 4, 10 a.m. 2008

Ride a pink horse, ride a white swan; glide up and down as the music plays. After a summer's worth of repairs, the newly refurbished Tilden Park Carousel (Central Park Dr. at Lake Anza Rd., Berkeley) is rotating again. Built in New York in 1911, it thrilled riders at amusement parks in Southern California before arriving in Tilden in 1948. Celebrate the carousel's grand re-opening on Oct. 4 with free rides, free ice cream, and free cookies. 10 a.m.
