UC Berkeley researcher David Roland-Holst has released a new study, in which he estimates that the state’s new effort to eliminate greenhouse gas and adopt green energy will create up to 403,000 new jobs and and add $48 billion to household incomes in the next twelve years. According to the Chron, the state already netted an unexpected windfall when it required energy efficiency in construction codes and from new appliances; the additional money saved from energy bills circulated through the economy, creating $1.5 million jobs and $56 billion in revenue.
