Cal Performances 2010-11 Season

When: Sun., Aug. 15 2010

MatíasTarnopolsky, Cal Performances' new director, launches his tenure with a kaleidoscopic dance lineup for Zellerbach Hall's (Bancroft Way and Dana St., Berkeley) 2010-11 season. Joining perennial favorites Mark Morris Dance Group and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater are the oft-controversial NederlandsDans Theater, daring Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and historic Royal Danish Ballet, while the world-stage category includes Tango Buenos Aires, Gamelan Çudamani, and more. Gilding the lily are three performances by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, the only Bay Area shows on its farewell Legacy Tour. The dates are sure to sell out, as this is the last chance to see dancers chosen and trained by Cunningham perform Pond Way, Antic Meet, Sounddance, andRoaratorio before the company disbands forever. Dance series are $120-$280; single tickets go on sale Sunday, Aug. 15, for $22-$100. 510-642-9988 or
