We know, we know: What else is new? But check this out, courtesy of the Chron. R.J. Garrett is a backup fullback for Cal, and his friend Gary Doxy was reportedly put on the team in order to get his high school friend and current pro football player DeSean Jackson to come to UC Berkeley. A few weeks ago, some white racist on the Cal crew team utters some nasty racial slurs at a party; he’s since been suspended from the team for the incident. A friend of Garrett and Doxy overhears the remarks and later complains to the two men, who are black. They allegedly decide to teach the jerk a lesson by (and we’re not sure how A connects to B here, but whatever) breaking into his dorm room, terrorizing him and his roommate at gunpoint, and stealing their shit. Except, of course, they hit the wrong guy. While the two victims are on the crew team, they were outside the party when the offending remarks were made and had no idea what was happening. Now, that’s a real comedy of errors.
