The star attractions are the crispy, well-blistered arepa sandwiches, which come overstuffed with fillings that range from pulled pork or chicken salad to a breakfast-y mix of ham, fried egg, and cheese — the arepa itself deep-fried for that last combination. In addition to the arepas, you would be wise to save room for an order of tequeños (stretchy cheese sticks that are wrapped in a pastry crust and deep-fried) and one or two Venezuelan-style fried empanadas, which feature a maize-based dough similar to what’s used for the arepas.
