How can you do Parkour stunts when the half the city’s buildings have been torn down? You’ve got to land somewhere, right? These and other questions come up as a righteous cop (the late Paul Walker) and an equally righteous resident of the title Detroit housing project (David Belle) do battle with a crime lord (RZA) and back-stabbing government officials over a neutron bomb. It’s another of writer-producer Luc Besson’s mid-budget, no-frills (well, some frills) actioners, directed by Camille Delamarre with a screenplay derived from Besson’s District 13: Ultimatum. And it’s routine all the way, although Belle’s moves are thrilling to watch (90 min.).
