When: Fri., Nov. 17, 4 p.m. 2017
Internationally acclaimed pastry chef, best-selling author, and popular food blogger David Lebovitz first started working in restaurants at age 16. It wasn’t until he landed at Chez Panisse that he rose to fame. He spent nearly 13 years at the Berkeley restaurant, slaving away over tart crusts and sorbets. Then, he left professional kitchens to write cookbooks and eventually moved to Paris, living the dream of many who revere French pastry. In his newest book, L’Appart: The Delights and Disasters of Making My Paris Home, Lebovitz uses his difficulties renovating his apartment as a way to dive into French culture, expat life, and food, including dozens of new recipes. At Market Hall Foods on Friday, Lebovitz will share tales and sample bites from the book.
