DJ & Dance

When: Fri., April 23, 9 p.m. 2010

World-class producer and DJ Simon Green, better known as Bonobo, returns with his impeccable new fourth album, Black Sands, and a live band to bring the record to life. The Ninja Tune release relaxes in a bath of strings, chill programmed beats, and the soft feminine vocal stylings of AndreyaTriana. Green brings Triana along on this tour, which is brought to the Bay by seemingly unstoppable promoters Blasthaus. Opening for Bonobo are Texas electronic rocker Yppah and San Francisco electronic musician Mophono. If that's too subdued, Beat Junkies founder DJ J. Rocc bumps at Mighty the same night. And over at Artists' Television Access, brutal SF electronic music weirdos Eats Tapes will handle the audio for some 3-D art pieces by Kerry Laitala. Bonobo performs Friday, Apr. 23, at Mezzanine (444 Jessie St., San Francisco). 9 p.m., $22.50.
