Robert and Dayna Baer have quite the love story: They met at work, fell out of touch, and reconnected. Despite the fact that both were married (but separated), they went out to a couple dinners and on a French skiing vacation, and the rest was history. Also, they're both former spies; that first meeting happened on a covert CIA mission in Bosnia. (If this all sounds like a movie, that's because it is, sort of: The 2005 George Clooney vehicle Syriana is reportedly based on Robert's life.) He's also an influential columnist, author, and commentator on US foreign policy; she's a UC Berkeley alum. They released their first book together, a memoir called The Company We Keep: A Husband-and-Wife True-Life Spy Story, earlier this month, and will be talking about it at Berkeley's First Congregational Church (2345 Channing Way, Berkeley) on Monday, Mar. 21, with former KPFA host Aimee Allison. 7:30 p.m.; $12-$15. 510-967-4495 or KPFA.org/events.
Price: $12 in advance; $15 at the door
