The Trib‘s Cecily Burt took a tour through the old Your Black Muslim Bakery headquarters and has written a story about its transformation from a spooky cult compound into a new center that will offer social services for people living with HIV. On September 22, Vital Life Services will open the new center, and clients will walk into the freshly remodeled building. Burt writes that the bakery’s neighbors couldn’t be happier, grateful that an ominous shadow has been lifted from the block.
