Its often argued and for good reason, because its true that Latinos are underrepresented in todays motion pictures. In some sick, twisted, mirror universe, Disneys Beverly Hills Chihuahua was intended to rectify that by casting, it seems, every single celebrity of Mexican and passable Mexican descent working in and around Hollywood today. Plus Drew Barrymore in the lead. Shes not Latina, of course, but shes family-friendly. Chihuahua, the story of a pampered Beverly Hills dog lost in her dirty ancestral homeland, is too as long as you overlook the inadvertent stereotyping. Oh, and the inadvertent argument that a pampered, do-nothing Paris Hilton lifestyle, despite what our heroine learns while slumming it, is still where you want to end up (91 min.).
