Best Place to Do Your Homework with a Milkshake

Boss Burger in Albany

Co-owner-operator Ryan Murff (also of Northbrae Bottle Shop) won his restaurant cred in Guy Fieri's Grocery Wars — and enough money to seed this clean, honest, and old-school burger joint, which opened six months ago. He earns an A with organic fried chicken sandwiches, double burgers, and his dedication to schools — because of the benefits and percentage of sales he donates to the Albany Education Foundation each week. His kids attend school across the street (where his wife teaches), then report to the restaurant to do homework and play Pac Man and Donkey Kong on a vintage sit-down video game.
