Kansai's Spicy Ahi Tuna Poki Seaweed Salad

Electric crunch. Fiery finish. This describes the out-of-this-world ahi tuna poki salad at Kansai, the hip, friendly, open-late (and even on New Year's Day) Temescal sushi house where they're always serving up something good. Value is a big commodity here, so most will get off pretty light on the pocketbook. But back to the awesome poki seaweed salad. Some seaweed-poki fans might be tempted to order this tasty treat as an appetizer, perhaps to share with a mate. But don't. No, order one all for yourself at this Korean-owned lounge-like emporium of sushi, sashimi, and sake. Be ready to use your chopsticks as weapons if necessary. This salad marries a fresh, brilliant green bed of seaweed with chunks of flavorful tuna and adds a spicy bite. It's as fresh as the sea, as piquant as a just-picked pepper. The seaweed is crisp and firm, a just-right contrast to the soft, redolent tuna. Sesame seeds add another element to complete the experience.
