Timeless Infinite Light

If you wanted to go to one East Bay poetry reading or performance every night, you would have more than enough offerings to choose from. While more attention is focused on Oakland’s large number of visual artists and galleries, a relatively quiet but active community of poets has been gradually growing. Some of the most talented of these poets publish work with Timeless Infinite Light (TIL), a relatively new small press based out of the Omni Commons in Oakland’s Temescal district. Much like the East Bay poetry scene, TIL is fiercely alternative, and likely wouldn’t prefer to be boxed into the genre of poetry at all. The works edited by Emji Spero, Joel Gregory, and Zoe Tuck weave together the political and the personal in a way that’s both emotionally resonant and socially relevant, aptly reflecting the conscious discussions of the East Bay’s artistic intellectual community. Plus, the books are beautifully printed.
