A much-needed addition to downtown Oakland, this newish shop (opened about a year ago by the owner of the Naming Gallery), is precisely the kind of multi-purpose store that downtown needed. In the last year or so, 15th Street has blossomed into a burgeoning arts and shopping block, and Tilde, located on the corner of it, topped it off. This is where you go to get curated vintage goods, like perfectly fitting Nineties mom jeans, vintage Adidas sweats, or patterned button-down tee's. Tilde also has a collection of retro Eighties video X and a sprawling free bookstore upstairs, making the store fun for the whole family.
