Best Photo Booth

The Vintage Booth at 1-2-3-4 Go! Records

If you've been looking for a non-digital, old-school photo booth in the East Bay, chances are you've had a tough time. That's because the area's few remaining vintage booths disappeared in recent years. But there's good news for those who crave to have their mugs captured by this now-antiquated form of photography: Local photo booth-aficionado Lisa Mancini bought and refurbished an old booth early last year, and it's now set up in the back of Oakland's 1-2-3-4 Go! Records for public use during store hours. For $3 and the good old-fashioned patience required for a picture to develop, patrons can take home the original four-paneled black-and-white selfies once ubiquitous in movie theaters and amusement parks. Snap a photo with your baby, your beau, or your Boston terrier — but be sure to hold onto the memento, because there's no telling when the East Bay's last fully functional photo booth will go the way of the dinosaurs.
