.Best Online Film Soundtrack Store

Intrada Records

After many years as the Bay Area’s center for film score aficionados in That Other City Across the Bay, Intrada Records owner/producer Doug Fake took his excellent, exclusive movie soundtrack store into cyberspace in the mid-1990s, while setting up shop in Oakland’s Montclair Village. For film geeks and music buffs who believe film and TV music deserve more respect than they get, Intrada makes that point better than anyone. All the Old Masters, such as Erich Wolfgang Korngold, can be found in its deep catalog, plus an endless selection of genuine cult oddities like the original score to the Traci Lords version of Not of This Earth. You’ll also find the newest scores by the hottest new kid on the soundtrack scene (and composer of the score for Lost) Michael Giacchino, and not nearly enough film scores by the mind-blowing, prolific, and inventive Ennio Morricone. Rare among film soundtrack stores, Intrada is also its own record label, producing and releasing many film scores on its three specialty labels, a genuine accomplishment that makes Intrada not only a unique store, but maybe the unique music label in the Bay Area.
