Best Mexican Restaurant

Mariscos La Costa

Fresh, delicious, double corn tortilla tacos for $1. Ceviche tostados spilling over with pescado, camarones, y pulpo (or fish, shrimp, and octopus). Cilantro, radishes, all the appropriate condiments. Great, fresh food, really, really cheap. Get it to-go and make your colleagues mouths' water, or eat it there to avoid any waiting. This sizable eatery in the heart of Fruitvale at International and 37th does seafood right, and anything on the menu that comes from the sea is definitely worth getting, from the $1 oysters to the fish tacos. What's not to love about Mariscos La Costa? There's easy parking, you dine on a covered tiled patio under palm trees, and the fabulous food costs next to nothing, so it's quite a bargain. It's quick, too, with your order arriving at the window lickety-split. For a mere five-spot, you can eat like a king, so treat yourself and your date and then some to a trip to Mexico without even leaving Oaktown.
