.Best Late-Night Happy Hour

Kansai

Let’s face it: Late-night grub, usually pursued out of desperation, can get gross. Not so when it comes to Kansai. This Japanese restaurant has been serving up sushi until 2 a.m. for years now, offering Temescal residents and bar-hoppers a white-napkin option after a long night of doing whatever. A decent portion of its menu is discounted during its happy hour (which starts at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays), with discounted sake bombs helping the night continue. Tempura rolls, spicy hand-rolls, and classic California rolls can be had for just a few bucks — it’s often the perfect end to a long rambling evening. It’s not just a late-night place, either; drop by in the afternoon for an equally satisfying sushi spread. Though you can get away with round after round of sake bombs, Kansai also has a friendly feel, so don’t stress about bringing kids along.
