The Oakland Art Murmur

The Oakland Art Murmur has been going strong for six years now, and every month it continues to grow, both in attendance and in participants. 23rd Street between Telegraph and Broadway is the epicenter of a fantastic array of mixed-medium art exhibits and crafts sold by local artisans. Walk down Telegraph to 25th and you'll notice that the sidewalk has become a venue for cabaret, impromptu cafes, and vegan treats. 25th Street is the new 23rd, with seven new galleries opening on the street since 21 Grand moved there seeking cheaper space. The movement has garnered international interest, and with thousands of people visiting every month, it's no wonder some of the hippest artists in the world are showing in Oakland.
