Makin Endz Meet

17th Street between Franklin and Webster is an odd mix of beat up-looking beauty-supply stores, hole-in-the-wall sandwich shops, tacky-looking clothing stores, and empty storefronts. It is not, in other words, the kind of retail corridor where you’d expect to find cheap and startlingly chic boots, jewelry, and bags — but that’s exactly what Makin Endz Meet offers. The store is small — only big enough to handle two or three customers at a time, max — but well-curated, with vintage and new pieces for absurdly reasonable prices. And all this between a boarded-up storefront and a place where disembodied legs advertise two-for-one jeggings in a number of different animal prints. Go figure.
